Looking Forward...

My town had out all the heavy machinery today widening the streets and rearranging the piles of snow.  It is absolutely incredible how high the snowbanks are now...to the tops of the stop signs!  I can only remember back to one other time when I've seen it like this...Winter of 2005 up in Portland, ME when we had around 100" of snow...I'm sure there have been others in my lifetime but my memory isn't that good...that's a good thing because I'd like to forget about it!

The snow-free conditions continue at least a couple of more days and after tomorrow it will become a little less cold over the weekend with highs expected back in the 30s.  A Clipper system will likely spread some light snow into the area Sunday through early Monday but surface temperatures will be marginal for accumulation so at this time if anything were to stick we are only talking about an inch or so.

High pressure will work in behind that system with some briefly colder air on Tuesday then that high will shift offshore into a Summertime position near Bermuda and pump warmth up the backside of it...this will lead to a mini thaw with temps in the 40s if not 50s for a couple of days...can't wait!
