Logan Mankins Wearing Walking Boot While Leaving Locker Room
FOXBORO (CBS) -- Logan Mankins is having a lot of trouble staying healthy for the Patriots this season.
The veteran guard left Sunday's game against the Bills after giving up a sack early in the third quarter. The team said he suffered an ankle injury, and he never returned to the game.
The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe noted on Twitter that Mankins was wearing a walking boot on his left foot when leaving Gillette Stadium.
After undergoing knee surgery shortly after the Super Bowl, Mankins has dealt with some nagging lower-body injuries through the first half of the season. He missed three of the first eight games this year, including the Patriots' Week 8 game in London prior to their bye week. Mankins was listed as questionable for this game against Buffalo with calf and hip injuries, so the ankle injury may be a new one.
Center Ryan Wendell appeared to roll onto Mankins' foot or ankle on that final play of the day for Mankins, and he also looked to have running back Stevan Ridley fall on his lower body earlier in that same drive.
