Logan Blames Old Data For "Dangerous Airport" Ranking
BOSTON (CBS) - Logan Airport is disputing its ranking on a list of the most dangerous airports in the country.
Travel & Leisure Magazine put out the list after looking at FAA statistics for runway incidents between 2006 and 2010 at the nation's busiest airports.
Logan was ranked the ninth most dangerous airport.
In response to the article, Logan Airport tweeted, "It's unfortunate T+L magazine used old date to rank airport, but we are glad they recognized all the hard work..."
The close call incident that Travel & Leisure references at Logan Airport was from 2005.
The "hard work" they're referring to is a 2008 "Airport of the Year" award from the Air Line Pilots Association for the airport's efforts to improve safety.
The number one most dangerous airport on the list was Chicago's O'Hare.
