Logan Airport Launching $100M Renovation

Gov. Deval Patrick announced the plan on Tuesday at a meeting of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. The two-year project is slated to begin in July and will be funded through Massport's capital improvement plan.

"It's about continuing the progress Mass. Port has made at making Logan a friendly and efficient airport for international visitors, which is a big part of its growth and a big contributor to our economic growth," Patrick told WBZ NewsRadio 103.

Officials say international travel through Logan has grown 20 percent in the last decade and is the fastest growing segment of the airport's business.

The changes will include installation of self-service kiosks at Terminal E to speed up processing of passports for international travelers. The project also calls for a post-security connector between terminals E and C.
