LOWELL (CBS) - Egyptians living in the U.S. are keeping a close eye on on developments in Cairo.
UMass Lowell Provost Ahmed Abdelal rolled his eyes and, at times, shook his head while watching Egypt President Hosni Mubarak speak Thursday night.

After the speech, there is still some confusion on how the changes will affect Egypt. One thing is clear, though: Mubarak did not resign.
WBZ's Jon Keller discusses the situation in Egypt.
"He's asking his vice president to assume the responsibilities of the president," said Abdelal. "I think (it's a good thing). He's leaving the decision-making to the vice president. I'm cautiously optimistic."
He said only time will tell if the vice president will be an effective leader.
