Local Golfer Sinks Hole In One, Wins $70,000 BMW In Concord Tournament
CONCORD (CBS) - A local golfer hit it big Saturday on a course in Concord.
Frank Lombardi, who is a member at Nashawtuc Country Club, sunk a hole in one on the seventeenth hole, in the final round of the Nashawtuc Men's Invitational.
It was his first ace ever.
The reward for his hole in one was a 2011 BMW 7 Series. The car has a starting retail price of $70,000.
Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury sponsored the giveaway.
Lombardi's father was his partner for the member-guest event, and witnessed the remarkable shot.
There is some bad news, It's unclear whether the IRS counts the car as a prize or a gift. Either way, the taxes on a comparable prize or gift can typically run anywhere between $10,000 and $30,000.
