Local Company Helps Travelers Save Hundreds
BOSTON (CBS) - The only thing Ashley Gutermuth of Somerville likes better than traveling is getting a deal on traveling. She recently saved a great deal of money on a recent trip to Las Vegas.
"I kind of feel like I hit the mother load," explained Gutermuth. She found a hotel room just one block off the strip for about $86 a night. Everything else in the area was more like $150.
Ashley used www.sniqueaway.com to book her hotel room. It's a members only site based in Charlestown that offers substantial savings on hotel rooms around the world. Ashley is now using the site to find a place to stay on a trip she's planning to Washington DC.
WBZ-TV's Paula Ebben reports
David Krauter, the director of www.sniqueaway.com, said members of the site can go to incredible resorts that they might not otherwise be able to afford.
"We feature hotels that are up to 50% off" added Krauter. "We've had sales in Thailand, Fiji. We've had hotels in New York and San Francisco."
Recent offering include tropical retreats and major American cities, like Atlanta.
Krauter advises clients to act fast if they see something they like. "On www.sniqueaway.com our sales last 7 days, and we're turning hotels over every week,"
To really take advantage of their sales, it is helpful to rethink your approach to traveling. Instead of picking a destination and then finding a room, you can choose one of their destinations as your building block.
"One of the things we've heard from members is that we help motivate them to really travel to places they've never been to before," said Krauter.
