Liverpool To Play At Fenway Park On July 25
BOSTON (CBS) -- When John Henry's group purchased Liverpool FC, it was really only a matter of time before the soccer club played a match at Fenway Park. And that time will come this summer.
Liverpool announced Wednesday that the club will be taking on AS Roma on July 25 at Fenway Park. Tickets will go on sale April 28.
Liverpool will be conducting its workouts and training sessions at Harvard University, as well.
"During its 100-year history, Fenway Park has hosted some of the best in athletic competition," Henry said in a release, "and a match between Liverpool and AS Roma - two of the world's most well-known and respected clubs - is an appropriate way to help celebrate Fenway's 100th anniversary and showcase our ballpark to an international audience."
"Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience for our North American fans while building a lasting legacy for Liverpool here in the States," Tom Werner said.

Fenway Sports Group purchased the club back in 2010, though at that point, Henry's group was called New England Sports Ventures.
The match is likely to be a success in Boston, where an entire group of LFC supporters gathers regularly to watch matches.
