Little By Little

A cold front is sweeping through this morning which will affect us in a few ways.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

First, a wind advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. as west winds will reach 20-30 mph and gust up to 50 mph.

Watch Melissa Mack's forecast:

Additionally, our temperatures will be dropping into the middle and upper 30s, remaining stagnant through midday, and then dipping into the upper 20s.

Clouds will be decreasing this morning which will lead to a sunny day.

Thursday will start on a bright note, but clouds will be increasing during the afternoon.

Highs will hang near 30F.

Flurries and snow showers will develop in the evening from a 'Clipper' system heading our way from the northwest. This will provide widespread,  light snow showers from ~7 p.m. Thursday through ~7 a.m. Friday.

Friday morning's commute will challenge  your patience.  It'll be a 'slow-go' with slushy and slippery roadways as you are heading to school or work.

Once the snow showers shut off early Friday morning, skies will be clearing and northwest winds will stir things up with speeds between 10-20 mph.

Models (GFSx & EURO) are coming closer to a similar solution with Saturday's forecast.

Check it out, here's the GFSx.

This is the EURO's latest run.

The models are showing a more promising situation those of you hoping for a storm.

The 'panhandle hook' will link with moisture to its north.

This storm will have plenty of moisture to deposit right in our backyards.

Then, there is the question of which type of precipitation we will be receiving.

The 540 line would be near the Mass Pike with this current depiction.

The areas with the best chance of getting snow will be those locales north of the Mass Pike towards southern NH and VT.

South of the Mass Pike will likely have a rain/snow/wintry mix if this current track comes to fruition.

QPF values currently show ~.60" liquid (potentially 6" of snow).   Watching closely...

Melissa :)
