Light Snow Tonight...Late-Weekend Storm

Sunshine will be taken over by cloud cover throughout the day.  It's going to be another cold day with highs flirting with 30F. Otherwise, prepare for a few snowflakes to fall tonight.  This weakening Alberta Clipper centered to our north will produce a rain/snow along the coast to a 'candy-coating' for some interior backyards.  We will be sandwiched between 2 systems on Saturday which will result in a decent late-fall day (astronomically-speaking).

Sunday is the beginning of a stormy scenario.  The precipitation may start off as a wintry mix for the interior and higher elevations.  The mix will change to rain by Sunday afternoon as strong warm air advection takes place.  Highs will approach the upper 40s to near 50F.  The rain will continue right thru Sunday night.  The timing of cold air advection is slightly different amongst the models. I believe that the rain will mix with snow from west to east starting Monday morning.  It doesn't look like there will be enough precipitation left to create more than a light accumulation in Central Mass. and the higher elevations.  Highs on Monday will most likely occur during the early AM hours and then, begin to tumble throughout the day.  This forecast is based on the current models which are subject to change.  Models don't show major dicrepancies, but a minor change in the storm track or timing of warm &/or cold air advection have the potential to affect the precipitation type.  This is a forecast we will continue to warch closely.

Ski Forecast:  NH & Maine...packed powder, snowmaking and grooming, more terrain opening
