Light Precipitation-->Cold Air
Rain/snow will continue to fall this morning and taper from west to east this afternoon. The light snow will add up to 2-4" total for our interior viewing area (esp. Worccester/Middlesex counties). Otherwise, a rain/snow mix will change to a few snow showers on the back edge of the low that track towards the northeast this afternoon. That could throw down a coating to an inch of slushy snow along the Coastal Plain/South Shore. Otherwise, temperatures will begin to take a dive this afternoon once winds shift to the WNW in the wake of a cold front. Winds will also pick up in intensity (gusts to 55mph) which justifies the Wind Advisory for the Cape/Islands thru early Wednesday morning. Skies will clear out overnight allowing for significant radiational cooling. Wednesday will be colder in the mid-to-upper 20s. An Arctic cold front will drop across New England Wednesday night unleashing even colder air for Thursday.
A few Alberta Clippers will pass by this weekend supplying a few snow showers from time to time. Otherwise, we have no major storms that we are watching for the time being.
