Man Wanted In Wendell Murder, Chicopee Shooting Arrested In Orange
ORANGE (CBS) -- Police have arrested a man they say killed someone in Wendell and shot a worker at a Chicopee trucking company last Tuesday.
Chicopee Police said on their Facebook page that Orange Police took Lewis Starkey, 53, into custody Sunday morning after he was pulled over around 9:15 a.m. Sunday in Orange.
He was pulled over in a red Lincoln MKX with Vermont plates--the car State Police had reported he was driving.
"Great job by all," the department wrote.
Last week, State and Wendell Police issued a wanted poster for Starkey, and said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to officials, Starkey is responsible for killing 48-year-old Amanda Glover in the West Street home that they shared.
"It was really surprising. I mean, no one even knows where Wendell is. This is such a quiet community," said neighbor Miriam Robinson.
Loved ones have set up a GoFundMe page to help support Glover's family.
Chicopee Police said Starkey also said shot a fellow worker at the Specialized Trucking Company a short time after officers discovered the murder.
"I've been up here for about three years and never heard anything from neighbors that way, no noise or anything," said another neighbor, Miriam Robinson. "I was pretty much taken back, I didn't know what was going on. Then my mom texted me and said someone was killed."
Starkey is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
