LeGarrette Blount On Seahawks: 'They're Not Immortal -- They Can Be Beaten'
PHOENIX (CBS) -- Though many of the conversations which took place on the floor of US Airways Center for Super Bowl Media Day consisted of frivolity and general silliness, there were some actual football discussions.
And when it comes to football, Super Bowl XLIX ought to be as good as it gets.
Though the Seahawks are the defending champions, and though they are riding an eight-game winning streak and are winners of 12 of their last 13 games, Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is not intimidated.
"They lost four games this year?" Blount asked a reporter when asked about Seattle.
"How many did we lose?" he rhetorically asked. (The Patriots, too, lost four games.)
"Exactly," he said, before adding, "They can be beat."
The Seahawks enter Sunday's game ranked No. 1 in passing defense, No. 3 in rushing defense and, most importantly, No. 1 in scoring defense.
Still, Blount's not scared.
"I don't care about them being a top defense, they don't bother me," Blount said. "They were good enough to get here, just like we were good enough to get here. They're not immortal. They can be beat."
Those words from Blount may not quite register on the trash-talk scale when compared to what the Seahawks say, but by Patriots standards? They certainly stand out.
