LeGarrette Blount Added To Patriots' Injury Report With Hip Ailment
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots have leaned heavily on running back LeGarrette Blount during Tom Brady's four-game absence. It's apparently taken somewhat of a toll.
Blount appeared on the team's injury report on Wednesday as a limited participant due to a hip issue. Blount ran the ball just 13 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo, his lowest number of attempts on the season.
Through four weeks, Blount ranks third in the NFL with 352 rushing yards. His 88 carries and four rushing touchdowns are also third-most in the league.
He was one of eight Patriots listed as limited:
LeGarrette Blount, hip
Jacoby Brissett, thumb
Marcus Cannon, calf
Jonathan Freeny, shoulder
Jimmy Garoppolo, shoulder
Rob Gronkowski, hamstring
Dont'a Hightower, knee
Joe Thuney, knee
Three Patriots did not participate at all:
Brandon Bolden, knee
Shea McClellin, concussion
Vincent Valentine, back
The Patriots play the Browns on Sunday in Cleveland.
