LeBron James Says He'll Play Friday vs. Celtics
BOSTON (CBS) -- Two of the Celtics' remaining four games of the regular season come against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
They're hoping only one game will actually be against LeBron James, but a night off from King James won't come Friday in Cleveland.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, James said Friday morning that he'll be suiting up against the Celtics later tonight:
It's likely that LeBron will sit out Sunday when the Cavaliers come to Boston, with the Cavs locking up the two-seed in the Eastern Conference earlier this week, but he may make an abbreviated appearance in that one as well.
In two games against the Celtics this season, both Cleveland wins, James averaged 34 points, six assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Back in November, he brought the Cavaliers back from a 19-point fourth quarter deficit in Boston to claim a 122-121 victory. James scored 10 of his 41 points in the game's final frame, finishing with 11 assists and seven rebounds.
James scored 27 points in 26 minutes against Boston in a 110-79 blowout win in Cleveland on March 3.
In 38 career regular season games against the Celtics, James is averaging 30.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.5 assists.
The Celtics, 36-42, currently hold the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, which would set them up for a first-round matchup with the Cavaliers.
