LaDainian Tomlinson On Felger & Mazz: Patriots 'Weren't The Only Team Doing Things To The Balls'
BOSTON (CBS) -- There are many players who have spoken out about their distaste for the New England Patriots and, sometimes, their fans. One of the most notorious critics of the team and their fans has been former San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson.
Although Tomlinson is known in New England for his rant against the team after losing to them in the 2006 AFC Divisional Playoff, and his rant against angry Patriots fans after this year's AFC Championship Game, "LT2" made it clear that he respects and likes the Patriots, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady. On the recent comments, he added that he simply feels the fans overreacted to one loss by a team that has won more than any other since 2000.
The most striking part of the interview came when Felger & Mazz brought up DeflateGate (because of course they did), and Tomlinson confirmed what football fans with common sense already knew: "Everyone's going to push the rules a bit ... [The Patriots] weren't the only team doing things to the balls."
He even told a story about Chargers quarterbacks (Drew Brees? Phillip Rivers?) putting their footballs in a sauna to get them feeling perfect.
