Krug On Gresh & Zo: Canadiens Will Be A 'Good Test'
BOSTON (CBS) - Torey Krug joined Gresh & Zo on Wednesday afternoon for his weekly chat to talk about the latest happenings with the Boston Bruins, including Thursday night's matchup against the Canadiens, what he did for Thanksgiving and the aftereffect of his blocked shot from over the weekend.
The rookie defenseman blocked a shot in Saturday's win over the Blue Jackets and was in a great deal of pain as he skated back to the bench. It didn't appear to be too serious though as he didn't go back to the locker room or miss any ice time.
Torey Krug revealed to Gresh & Zo that he was back at practice today, will travel with the team and "see what happens" come Thursday night against the rival Canadiens.
"It's a game that we're all excited for. It's fun to play in Montreal, it's a good atmosphere there," said Krug. "It's something we're looking forward to. They're a great hockey team and they're playing really well right now. They have a lot of great players so it's a good test for us."
Thursday night at the Bell Centre will be the first game for the B's coming off an unusual four day rest period. The Bruins aren't complaining though, Krug and his teammates welcome any downtime they can get during the grind of a long regular season.
"It's awesome to be able to re-energize a bit and refocus. When you're playing every other day you do get worn down."
Krug also chatted with the guys about a recent toy drive that he was a part of and what he did for Thanksgiving. It was the first Thanksgiving for him and his wife, and on the charity stuff Krug said he loves to give back and see smiling faces.
A Michigan State alum, the former Spartan gave his predictions for the Big Ten Championship this weekend against Ohio State and talked about what it's like having a Buckeye teammate in Matt Bartkowski.
