Kinda Cold...

This should be one of the busiest weeks of the Winter in terms of tracking snowstorms but not a one is in sight...unless you consider the one in Denver!  But seriously, there is very little linkage with the Northern and Southern streams of the jet so despite seeing cold enough air for snow there isn't moisture to produce it.

This weekend will be benign...wall to wall sunshine tomorrow with a few high this cirrus clouds up there temps will actually manage to get very close to 40 though.  Saturday night a very weak coldfront will swing through New England...this will produce mountain snow showers and send a reinforcing shot of cold into the region...highs will be in the low to mid 30s.  A larger storm will swirl south of New England Sunday, we won't see any precip but we will see some of the cloud canopy.

Early next week, expect a brief warm up with highs climbing back to the 40s but a potent (and dry) coldfront will pass through during the day on Tuesday...winds will pick up and temps will tumble during the afternoon into the 30s and those 30s will stick around on Wednesday too.

There are small signs of a storm late next week but the split flow and lack of phasing pattern that we are in will work against it and right now that is how I will lean.  Therefore, another Winter week comes and another Winter week goes with no snow likely.

Well, at least this quiet weather allows us to focus completely on the Pats!
