Kevin Faulk On Toucher & Rich: I'll Only Play For Patriots
BOSTON (CBS) -- Kevin Faulk finds himself in a rather unfamiliar position this week, as the Patriots hold their mandatory mini-camp without him. A member of the Patriots since 1999, Faulk is not a part of the team for the first time in 13 years.
Despite the fact that he's not currently on the roster, Faulk told Toucher & Rich on Tuesday morning that he's still holding out hope that the team will be calling for his services this season.
"My goal is to control what Kevin Faulk can control," Faulk said. "I'm still working out, hoping for a phone call, but [I] know that the end is near, and [I'm] just doing what I have to do."
Though Faulk hasn't heard anything, the longtime Patriot says the team owes him nothing this offseason.
"Man, they don't owe anyone anything," Faulk said. "We are blessed to be given the opportunity [to play], and that's our job. You have to understand it from that standpoint, that this is a business."
While Faulk said he understands the business aspect of his situation, he won't be playing hardball with the Patriots. He said his future will either be with the Patriots or nobody.
"No, I don't think so. Well, I know that's a no," Faulk said.
Faulk also said that even though he still has the desire to play, he'd entertain the possibilities of either coaching or joining the media, in the event the team does not want him this year.
