Keller @ Large: The Least Reliable Oscar Picks
BOSTON (CBS) - It is the least anticipated moment of the run up to Oscar night, the moment when I unveil my picks for this year's key Academy Awards.
Thanks to this wretched winter we've had, I have actually managed to see quite a few nominees this year, although, with apologies to the great Bill Murray who originated this technique on "Saturday Night Live," failure to see a nominated movie or performance will not prevent me from evaluating it.

Do you really doubt that the same is true of some of the real Oscar judges?
So here we go, starting with the best picture nominees that I did see:
I cannot understand all the fuss about "The Social Network," a movie about unappealing people fighting over money and power. If I want to watch the US Congress in action, I'll turn on C-Span.
Unlike Congress, which I understand all too well, I could not make head or tail of "Inception" and fell asleep ten minutes in.
I really liked "True Grit," "The King's Speech" and "The Kids Are All Right," but the Oscar goes to "The Fighter," an excellent movie about Lowell.
There's a lot to like about Lowell, did you know that?
In the best actor category, I always enjoy Javier Bardem's work, but didn't see "Biutiful," so he's out. Ditto James Franco in "127 Hours," a movie about the State of the Union address.
The other nominees were all excellent, but the Oscar goes to Mark Wahlberg for "The Fighter," even though he wasn't nominated.
And the best actress was clearly Annette Benning in "The Kids Are All Right."
I didn't see any of the others, so they're out of luck.
And there you have it, arguably the world's least reliable Oscar picks.
No wagering, please.
