Keller @ Large: Sharing Happy Thoughts
BOSTON (CBS) - Write me off as too sentimental if you want to, but I do spend time, when I put together these little chats, wondering how younger kids might react to the topic or the way it's discussed.
And today, the story menu was especially ugly.
More fanatics with hatchets on the attack, more nasty gridlock in DC, more snow in Buffalo.
I doubt I could give you much on those topics without it disturbing the kids, so I won't.
This is one of those days when I just want to think, and share, happy thoughts.
I'm sure our Buffalo readers won't object.
Thoughts like this one: what if John Lester really did come back to the Red Sox?
Can you imagine how insufferable we Red Sox fans will be if that happens?
Brace yourself for a cliché hurricane of headlines about the "prodigal son" finding his way home like Lassie escaping from Scotland.
Knowing Lester, he'll say all the right things, and work will begin on his statue in the Public Garden, stopping traffic so the ducklings can cross.
98.5 The Sports Hub will be alive with the sound of fans gloating about fleecing Oakland by grabbing Cespedes and getting Lester back too.
There's a reason why, around the country, other fans barely tolerate us.
The best part is, the guy can still pitch. If guys start hitting again, all of a sudden we're back in business.
And just think of how nice the weather will be when all of that's happening.
Now, wasn't that better for everyone than talking about Buffalo?
Buffalo?
Are you still there, Buffalo?
