Keller @ Large: Mass. Democratic Party Chairman On Scott Brown, Jobs
BOSTON (CBS) - What are the issues facing the Massachusetts Democratic Party?
This week, Massachusetts Democratic Party chairman John Walsh stopped by to discuss the party's direction moving forward.
President Obama recently signed a bill that promotes jobs for veterans by giving tax breaks to companies who hire them. Republican Sen. Scott Brown was in attendance to see President Obama sign the bill.

Does that show that the Democrats' opinion of Brown as a "hyper-partisan puppet" is not accurate.
"Scott Brown's consistent votes against job creation is only one of the things that I would criticize his record for," said Walsh. "But it is important when he does make a vote that we give him credit for it. As a matter of fact... I Tweeted a congratulations to him and John Kerry for working together because that bill was so important."
"The fact that he actually voted for a jobs bill is what makes it so remarkable that he actually could be celebrated and invited to the White House," said Walsh. "The exceptional nature of Scott Brown actually voting for jobs warranted a visit to the White House."
How does Scott Brown's vision for creating jobs differ from Mass. Democrats?
"There's no question he has the same vision for how to create jobs that George W. Bush had: tax cuts, crush unions, and wait for it to work," said Walsh. "And it just hasn't worked."

"By the way, if he's got a better vision, then why hasn't he articulated it?" Walsh added.
Walsh later added that he agreed with Sen. Brown that in the wake of the "super committee" failure, finger-pointing and partisanship will not solve anything.
Walsh also discussed the ongoing trial involving Rep. John Tierney's wife, Patricia. He said he believes Rep. Tierney is still fit to serve as a representative.
