Keefer Madness: History Of The Sixth Overall Pick
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics haven't had much luck when it comes to the NBA Draft Lottery, and that continued Tuesday night as they landed the sixth overall pick in June's draft.
It could have been a lot worse, with memories of 2007's second-to-fifth drop, but Rich Keefe is here to make everyone feel a little better on the latest edition of "Keefer Madness."
Keefe and Adam Jones take a trip down memory lane and look at some of the more famous sixth overall picks throughout the history of the NBA draft. The Celtics have selected sixth overall five times in the franchise's storied history, with mixed results.

1959: John Richter
1978: Larry Bird
1997: Ron Mercer
1998: Antoine Walker
Hitting on two of five isn't great, but when you see that one of those players was Larry Bird (who Red Auberbach drafted a year before he was eligible), it more than balances out those other misses.
