Just How Gloomy Has June Been?AP

It's raining. It's pouring… You know the rest, and it's been a theme song of sort this month. Just when New Englanders were ready to get into their summer routines, the rain and clouds moved in and refused to move back out.

So just how gloomy has this June been?

According to the WBZ Weather team, Tuesday, June 23 will be the 16th straight day of below average temperatures in Boston. Tuesday's predicted highs in the low 60s are 15-20 degrees below the seasonal average.

As for rain, there has been measurable rain in Boston 15 of the last 22 days, which does not set a record. We are however on pace to set a record for the cloudiest June ever, with about 75 percent of days under cloud cover.

Meteorologist Todd Gutner says relief is right around the corner. Temperatures should rebound towards 80 degrees by Thursday, with an early forecast for a sunshiny weekend.
