Jury Selection To Begin In 'Clark Rockefeller' Murder Trial In California
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) - The man who called himself Clark Rockefeller is about to go on trial for murder in California.
Jury selection begins Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court in the trial of Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter.
Gerhartsreiter is serving a four- to five-year sentence in Massachusetts for a 2009 conviction in the kidnapping of his 7-year-old daughter in Boston during a supervised visit.
Gerhartsreiter is accused of killing 27-year old John Sohus, who rented him a cottage on his family's property in the wealthy Los Angeles suburb of San Marino in the 1980's.
Sohus and his wife Linda disappeared shortly before Gerhartsreiter moved to Connecticut with the Sohus' truck. John Sohus' bones were found in the backyard of his home in 1994. His wife remains missing.
Gerthartsreiter has pleaded not guilty.
