Julien On Deadline Day: 'It's Not A Fun Time'
Wilmington (CBS) - With the NHL trade deadline on Monday, it makes for some interesting exchanges whenever a player is call into Claude Julien's office.
"I've called a couple of players in my office just to show them some video clips, and you have to tell them right away 'it's just video, you're not traded,'" Julien said after the Bruins practice in Wilmington Monday morning. "That's how nervous guys are at this stage. It's not a fun time. As soon as practice was over everyone was heading into the lounge and looking at the TV."
General Manager Peter Chiarelli is said to be looking for a forward and defenseman, but does not that move to come at the expense of the team's chemistry.

It's hard for anyone to be traded, but the general sense in the Bruins locker room is everyone would like to stick around as they try to repeat as Stanley Cup champs.
"It's a good sign for us; I don't think anyone wants to leave," said Julien. "This is something we like to hear from our players. Again, we're going to do what we can to improve our team and if it's nothing, we still feel we have a good team. If we can improve it, it will only make it better."
A forward and defenseman could come in handy for the B's come Tuesday night's game against the Senators. Johnny Boychuk missed practice with concussion symptoms after a viscous hit by Ottawa's Chris Neil on Saturday. Forward Shawn Thornton also missed practice with flu-like symptoms.

"He's gonna be a game-time decision, or a question mark for tomorrow," Julien said of Thornton. "I don't know which term to use there but he's day-by-day and he's feeling better today so we'll see how he is tomorrow."
