Judge Places Lien On Bulger's $800,000
BOSTON (CBS) - A federal judge issued an emergency order Monday, placing a lien on the $800,000 seized at Whitey Bulger's apartment, according to the Boston Business Journal.
The request was made by the families of Bulger's alleged victims, who want any of Bulger's assets to pay an unpaid civil judgment against him.

"Hopefully at some point we'll convince him or another judge the money should go to the victims and not to the government coffers," attorney Anthony M. Cardinale, who represented the victims, said in an interview with the BBJ.
Bulger wants to be declared indigent and assigned a public defender if he can't use the money to defend himself.
Federal prosecutors have objected to that.
