Jonny Gomes In Red Sox Lineup For Game 2 Vs. Orioles
BOSTON (CBS) -- Wednesday marks the second night of the season for the Boston Red Sox, and they'll have a new lineup for it.
Facing Orioles right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, the Sox will roll out this lineup in Baltimore:

2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Mike Napoli, 1B
5. Jonny Gomes, LF
6. Grady Sizemore, CF
7. Xander Bogaerts, SS
8. A.J. Pierzynski, C
9. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
Jonny Gomes will be making his 2014 debut, after he sat in favor of Mike Carp on opening day. Carp went 1-for-4. Gomes is 5-for-12 with two walks and two home runs in his career against Jimenez. Dustin Pedrdoia is also 5-for-12 with two walks in his career vs. Jimenez.
John Lackey will make his first appearance of 2014 on Wednesday as well, coming off a season in which he went 10-14 with a 3.52 ERA in the regular season and went 3-1 with a 2.77 ERA in five appearances (four starts) in the postseason.
Jimenez will be making his first start as an Oriole, after he signed with Baltimore as a free agent in February. Jimenez had a strong bounceback season in 2013, going 13-9 with a 3.30 for Cleveland while striking out 194 batters in 182 2/3 innings.
