Jones: Chiarelli Acknowledges Bruins Lack High-End Skill On 'Behind The B'
BOSTON (CBS) - The season debut of Behind The B, NESN's docuseries on the Boston Bruins that grants cameras unprecedented access, aired Monday night.
Adam Jones and Rich Keefe of 98.5 The Sports Hub's The Adam Jones Show have some initial thoughts on the 2014-15 team after watching the first episode. One thing that stood out to them the most was a conversation involving Bruins brass.
During Day 2 of the NHL Draft, cameras showed GM Peter Chiarelli having an open and honest conversation with Keith Gretzky, brother of Wayne and a scout within the Bruins organization, where both admit the team lacks high-end skill.
"I thought that was very telling," said Jones.
Another item that stood out was the Bruins' take on first round draft pick David Pastrnak (25th overall).
It sounds like the team is very high on the 18-year-old, and expect him to be a contributor this season. One scout even joked (or not -- it's kind of hard to tell) he wants Pastrnak on the top line, which Jones believes signals a lack of options.
