Jones: Celtics' Chances Of Landing Star Player Depends On Draft Lottery
BOSTON (CBS) -- Jay King of MassLive.com joined The Adam Jones Show on Monday night to discuss possible scenarios facing the Celtics as the highly anticipated 2016 offseason looms.
With the Draft Lottery only a week away, there will be a clearer picture soon. But for now, it seems as if there's a new rumor every day linking a star player to the Celtics. If King had to narrow the long list of stars down to one, though, Jimmy Butler would be the guy most likely to be wearing green next season.
"If the Celtics do get a little lucky in the lottery, all of a sudden things open up and Jimmy Butler could be one of those guys who, if they get lucky, could suddenly be available for the right price," said King.
As far as the Kevin Durant to Boston dream goes, King won't count that out either.
"I do think there's a small chance that he'll hear the Celtics out and be intrigued by not just their roster but the possibilities that Ainge has set up with assets," said King. "And Brad Stevens as a coach is becoming a huge draw."
All of this, of course, is reliant upon the Celtics getting a little lucky in the draft lottery. So, later on in the show, Jones decided to play around with the draft lottery simulator in order to get a feel for how lottery night might go.
