Jets Fans Fly 'Cheaters Look Up!' Banner Above Patriots Practice

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Jets no longer have Rex Ryan at the helm, and they haven't made the playoffs since 2010, and they lost as many games as the Patriots won last season, and they still don't have a quarterback, and the Jets have lost seven of their last eight games against New England ... but the rivalry is apparently still alive and well.

When the Patriots hit the practice field Thursday morning to officially kick off their 2015 training camp, they did so with an unwelcome visitor soaring above.

Flying high above the Gillette Stadium practice field was an airplane towing a banner that said, simply, "Cheaters Look Up!"

The banner included a sign-off from @JetsFanMedia -- a Twitter account that is sure to gain some followers in the Tri-State Area today.

One of the operators of that account, Jason Koeppel, spoke to the Metro about the elaborate plan, and he compared Brady to all of the great cheaters in sports history.

"The time has come for Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft to start dealing with reality. Sports fans are not stupid. We have seen this act before from disgraced former superstar athletes," Koppel told the Metro. "People like Lance Armstrong and Ryan Braun who challenged the system after they got caught red handed. Ben Johnson, Marion Jones, A-Rod, Roger Clemens - the list of people who lied after they got caught cheating is sadly endless. ... Why not learn from their mistakes? Take a lesson from Pete Rose who is still banned from baseball because of the way he acted after he got caught. Give up your ridiculous campaign of lies and accept your punishment. Have some integrity. Stop this 'Tom Foolery' today."

It is, of course, a shot at the Patriots amidst the ongoing saga known as "DeflateGate."

The Patriots and Jets will meet for the first time in Week 7 on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Gillette Stadium. We'll just have to wait to see what fun banners the Jets fans decide to send that day.
