Jaffe On Toucher & Rich: Does Eriksson Give Bruins Better Chance To Win Then Seguin Did?
It seems like hockey just ended, but it's already that time of year again. The Bruins open training camp today and their first exhibition game is Monday against the Montreal Canadiens.
Fan are wondering what the line combinations are going to look like with the new additions to this roster. At the moment Claude said that he'd put Jarome Iginla on the same line with Milan Lucic and David Krejci and Loui Eriksson on the same line as Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.
"I think Claude Julien is a smart man," Billy Jaffe told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich on Wednesday. "Listen it's like fans are putting together football lineups in July before anybody's made it through camp, it's the same thing with hockey right now. They want to know what coach Julien is thinking."
"This makes sense to try and on the surface you think or it seems there would be some chemistry, right? Iginla the power forward, Eriksson the more kind of smoother two way type player that will fit in better with Bergeron."
It's no secret that this is a team that would like to win now with the window closing in the next few years. Does Loui Eriksson give this team the best chance to win now then Tyler Seguin did?
"Right now, yes absolutely. With no disrespect to Tyler, this Bruins team gets a player like Loui Eriksson that I think will do a lot of little things that Tyler Seguin was still learning, can learn and wants to learn, but Loui Eriksson will probably not make the same mistakes regularly that Tyler Seguin did."
