Is Dion Lewis Worth Stashing On Your Fantasy Roster
BOSTON (CBS) -- As we hit Week 6 in the NFL season, some fantasy football owners are feeling pretty good about themselves. Others are questioning their participation.
Some are starting to think a few months ahead, scouring the waiver wires for players worthy of a roster spot despite the fact they're not currently playing; players like Bills receiver Sammy Watkins and Patriots running back Dion Lewis.
CBS Sports' Fantasy Football expert Dave Richard joined Toucher & Rich for his weekly call into 98.5 The Sports Hub on Thursday, and said Lewis is a guy you should add to your mix, if you have an open roster spot.
"Dion Lewis is going to come back first and he has the most chance of having an impact," he said. "Eventually, hopefully, he'll be healthy for the Patriots."
Lewis can't return to practice until next week, but has been spotted in the New England locker room in recent weeks and hasn't shown any lingering effects from the torn ACL that ended his season in Week 9 last season, and the subsequent second surgery he underwent in August.
Need some help at receiver for this week's matchup? Richard recommends Chicago Bears receiver Cameron Meredith, who has formed some good chemistry with QB Bryan Hoyer, and New York Jets wide out Quincy Enunwa, who should see plenty of action with Eric Decker landing on the IR. And if you're desperate for some help at tight end, Pittsburgh's Jesse James has a good matchup against the Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo's Charles Clay is a sleeper with five catches in each of the last two weeks.
