Iraq War Veteran Hurt In Hit-And-Run Crash In Hudson, NH

HUDSON, N.H. (CBS) - An Iraq War veteran was the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Hudson, New Hampshire on Thursday night.

Investigators said that 26-year-old Matthew Geddes was walking on Central Street when the driver of a pickup truck hit him.

Geddes told WBZ-TV he had just finished eating at the Nan King Restaurant and as he was leaving the parking lot, a brown pick up truck ran him over. Police said the truck driver did not stop.

WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports.

Police later tracked down the driver, who told officers he didn't even know he hit someone.

"The investigation appears, so far, that he was just run over inside the parking lot," said Chief Jason LaVoie of the Hudson, New Hampshire Police Department. "It was a brown pick up truck. We have identified that truck as well as the occupants inside and the investigation is continuing as to who the driver was and what actions they had taken prior to exiting the parking lot."

Geddes said his pelvis was broken in four different areas. He will be in the hospital for about a week.

Police have not yet filed any charges against the driver.
