Internet Poker Could Be Added To Mass. Gambling Bill
BOSTON (AP) - A state representative is hoping to add Internet poker to a casino bill pending on Beacon Hill.
Rep. Daniel Winslow said his amendment would create five new licenses allowing Internet poker firms to set up shop in Massachusetts
The Norfolk Republican said the amendment would also require the state to draft new regulations to ensure that Internet poker games have integrity and consist of games of skill and not games of chance.
Winslow said allowing an Internet poker industry in Massachusetts would also create high tech jobs in the state as well as boosting additional gambling revenue.
The casino bill to be debated by the Massachusetts House next week would license up to three casinos and one slots parlor.
Winslow's is one of many amendments lawmakers expect to debate.
