Intense 4 to 6 Hours, Could Have Thundersnow
BOSTON (CBS) -- There's some real intense precipitation just south of Long Island as of 10:30 p.m.
This storm is becoming very powerful.
Todd Gutner and I are concerned that we may see some banding, perhaps thundersnow, especially in SE MA, maybe up to Boston. If this occurs we could have rates more than two inches an hour for a few hours.

Also the heavy wet nature of the snow in SE MA could cause more power outages and damage than expected if we get very heavy bands of snow down there.
It's going to be an intense four to six hour period from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m.
It should be sunny by mid to late morning.
