Inmates Relocated After Water Issue At Cambridge Jail

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Inmates at the Middlesex Jail in Cambridge were being relocated Monday night after an issue with the water system.

"The Middlesex Sheriff's Office alerted the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance immediately and they are working to address the problem," spokesman Kevin Maccioli said in a statement. "In order to maintain public safety, the Middlesex Sheriff's Office held over and brought in additional corrections officers and logistical support."

It is unclear when the inmates will return to the Middlesex Jail.
