In Search For Sunshine

After a few gorgeous weekends in a row, this past weekend broke that trend. We were tucked under a thick cloud cover with rain, drizzle, and mist throughout the day on Saturday, and some of us managed to see peeks of sunshine for brief stints on Sunday.   An upper level low will dictate our weather through midweek which will allow this dreary, dank weather to prevail.

Today will be 'more of the same'. The dreary weather will continue with clouds, showers, and drizzle. Additionally, we are within a time period where astronomical tides are very high (near the Full Moon). This will be occurring in conjunction with gusty north-northeast winds, which will put our coastal areas from the New Hampshire Seacoast to Cape Cod, under the risk for moderate coastal flooding and beach erosion. The main concern will be around the high tide cycle tonight...11:53pm @ 12.3 feet.  That being said, there could also be minor coastal flooding around the high tide cycle ~11:40am this morning @ 10.6 feet. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for this morning's high tide while a coastal flood warning will be in effect for tonight's high tide cycle.  High temps today will only be in the lower to middle 50s.

Tuesday will still be overcast with intermittent showers along with mist and drizzle. Winds will be breezy from the north-northeast around 10-20 mph. Highs will be a few degrees warmer as they climb near 60F.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we will continue to be under the control of the low pressure that is centered offshore. However, it will have slightly less impact. Consequently, we will have a little bit of sunshine on both days in addition to diurnal clouds and showers. Highs will go from the middle 60s on Wednesday to near 70F on Thursday.

Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with a slim chance of a late-day storm, especially northwest of Boston. Temps will be heading back to near-normal territory in the middle 70s.

The weekend looks much warmer as the thermometers will be reading in the upper 70s to near 80F.
