In Boston Speech, Eric Holder Touts Civil Rights Record
BOSTON (AP) — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has touted his record on civil rights during a speech in Boston while barely mentioning the controversy over the "Fast and Furious" gun-running program swirling around him in Washington.

Speaking at a symposium on civil rights hosted by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston, Holder said that over the last three years, the Justice Department has filed a record number of criminal civil rights claims.
He said his office has worked hard to combat hate crimes, bullying and human trafficking.
Holder spoke briefly about a vote looming Thursday by a House committee to hold him in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents related to Operation Fast and Furious.
Holder, referring to his busy schedule, said it's "going to get really busy on Thursday, apparently."
