Immigrant Carpenters Claim Mass. Company Owes Them Thousands
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - A group of mainly immigrant carpenters have filed a complaint with the Massachusetts attorney general's office over claims that they are owed up to $12,000 each.
The two dozen or so carpenters say they worked on five different PulteGroup construction sites in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The MetroWest Worker Center in Framingham, one of the groups representing the workers, said the carpenters worked on Pulte sites in Natick, Northbridge, Braintree, Plymouth and in Wakefield, R.I., in January and February.
The Michigan-based PulteGroup Inc. said it hasn't received any complaints or citations from official channels, and that all of its subcontractors have been paid.
A spokesman for Attorney General Martha Coakley said her office generally does not comment on complaints it investigates unless a citation is issued.
