Ice Bucket Challenge: Ethel Kennedy Nominates President Obama For Dousing
HYANNISPORT (CBS) – The Ice Bucket Challenge has been passed from several generations of the Kennedy clan to the current occupant of the White House.
Members of the Kennedy family gathered this weekend at their Hyannisport compound, where they did what seemingly everyone has been doing all week: poured buckets of ice water over their heads in an effort to raise money for ALS research and awareness of the disease.
Max Kennedy led the family dousing that culminated with an ice-bucket bath by his mother, 86-year-old Ethel Kennedy, widow of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
She then passed the challenge on to President Obama, who is vacationing on Martha's Vineyard.

"Welcome to Cape Cod, President Obama. I nominate you," said the Kennedy matriarch.
A video of the Kennedy Ice Bucket Challenge was posted on the Facebook page of Max Kennedy.

There's no word on whether the president accepted the challenge while spending Monday at an Edgartown beach.
In the past 10 days the ALS Association has raised $160,000 – 10 ten times more than it raised this time last summer.
