Natick Woman Has Twins A Day After Husband's Death
NATICK (CBS/AP) — Friends and strangers are rallying around a Natick woman whose husband died unexpectedly a day before she gave birth to their twins.
A gofundme page set up for Sue Heslin Trubiano had raised more than $67,000 as of Wednesday morning.
Family members say 39-year-old Dino Trubiano died unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday. His wife of nearly 10 years called 911, but first-responders and hospital staff could not resuscitate him. The cause of death remains under investigation.
On Saturday, Sue Trubiano gave birth by cesarean section to two healthy boys — Caleb Peter and Jacob Dino.
A joint statement from the Trubiano and Heslin families said they were "overwhelmed and humbled" by the amount of support they've received.
"Dino will forever be the loving, loyal, determined, selfless, and compassionate man who waited in eager anticipation for the arrival of his sons," the statement reads. "He was thrilled to assume his role as father and all that it would encompass, from changing diapers to raising the next generation of Patriots fans."
"Dino and Sue, with their love growing daily over nearly 10 years of marriage, cherished each moment of pregnancy. Dino would often say it was the best time of his life. While his sons will never meet him, it is certain that Sue, along with Dino's family and friends, will never let them forget him."
The Trubiano and Heslin families thanked supporters for their prayers and thoughts, and asked for privacy during this difficult time.
