Hurricane Earl setting sights on the Cape
States of Emergency have been declared in North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Earl. The storm is about 870 miles south southwest of Nantucket.
Maximum sustained winds are at 145 miles per hour.
