Hundreds Walk For Breast Cancer Cure
BOSTON (CBS) -- Hundreds of breast cancer survivors and their families took part in Sunday's Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure in South Boston.
Decked out in pink from head to toe, the participants walked and ran to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
Debbie Secinaro of Attleboro was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. She underwent chemotherapy and a double mastectomy.
She told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that cancer really put her life in perspective, and thanked her supportive family and friends.
"You don't take things for granted anymore and you try to live life to the fullest," Secinaro said. "It's a very traumatic experience for any woman to go through."
More than 5,000 Massachusetts women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014.
