Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-495 In Hopkinton
HOPKINTON (CBS) – A 22-year-old Millbury woman who was driving on the wrong side of the road was killed after a head-on crash on I-495 in Hopkinton.
The crash was reported just before 6 a.m. about two miles prior to the Mass Pike.
Massachusetts State Police say Danielle Richmond was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima south on the northbound side of the road and crashed head-on into a 2006 Honda pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was seriously injured. Richmond died at the scene.
As a result of the crash, I-495 North was temporarily shut down in the area. Only the breakdown lane was getting by for a brief time.
All lanes reopened just after 8 a.m.
Major delays resulted from the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
