It's the last week of March!

After last week's 'Summer tease',  this week's weather is a 'rude awakening' that New England has many ups and downs during the Spring season.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

It's going to be a chilly start as we begin the last week of March.

Highs will only top off in the lower and middle 40s today and tomorrow.

That being said, it's not far from the average highs in the upper 40s to near 50.

That's last week's record high temperatures cut in half!

It looks like we will need to bring back the wind chill map.

Wind chill will be a factor with northwest winds gusting to 35-40 mph starting this afternoon.  Winds will remain gusty through Tuesday.

***Monday and Tuesday will have an elevated risk of brush fires due to the dry conditions, dry air, and gusty winds.

***Monday and Tuesday night:  Widespread hard freeze. Bring in or cover up the tender vegetation.

As the jetstream becomes more zonal,  a low pressure system will travel nearly due east.

This will first become noticeable with increasing clouds Tuesday night and a few showers/snowflakes by early Wednesday morning.

Yes, I said 'snowflakes'!!!

A few showers will linger throughout the day on Wednesday as the low tracks east/southeast.   Wednesday night may also include a few showers or snowflakes.

Thursday will eventually provide a cloud/sun combo by the afternoon with just a slight chance of a brief afternoon sprinkle/shower due to a shortwave trough.  Highs will be near 50 for both Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday will be sunny, breezy, and highs will return to the lower 50s.

This weekend will mark the end of March and the beginning of April.

March will end out with sunshine and highs in the lower 50s. There will be a chance of showers on Satruday night through Sunday afternoon.

'April Fools' day will have high temperatures in the 50s.
