Home Next To Collapsed East Boston Building Demolished
EAST BOSTON (CBS) - Demolition crews spent Sunday night tearing down a four-story home that sat next to a building that collapsed on Friday.
The home at 45 Chelsea Street was condemned over the weekend after an adjacent vacant building collapsed, causing significant damage to the home.
The building that initially collapsed, at 47 Chelsea Street, was vacant and had previously been condemned.

Denise Lam, one of the homeowners at 45 Chelsea Street said Saturday that her family had taken their neighbor to court to try and force him to tear down the dilapidated structure.

Lam told WBZ-TV that she spent Friday night evacuating her tenants from the building.
She did not know whether insurance would cover the damage to her family's building.
The demolition also impacted MBTA Blue Line service. The T had to run shuttle buses between Maverick and Airport Stations while crews worked on demolishing the two buildings.
