Holy Cross Students Suspended, Cited For Vandalism
WORCESTER (CBS) - Five Holy Cross students were cited by police at a party just days before classes begin.
According to police, the off campus party continued well into the night and the students vandalized several nearby cars. Only five of the estimated 50 students present were cited, and the university quickly suspended those students pending further investigation.

Ed Augustus, the school's Director of Government and Community Relations, says that of the 2,900 students, only about 200 live off campus under new rules from Holy Cross.
"Students have to be granted permission to live off campus. Students who have any kind of disciplinary issues in their history are not given permission," Augustus said.
The school has also added police lectures to their orientation to discourage this behavior.
But on Caro Street, where the incident took place and most residents are students, there's a sense that police and the school are overreacting.
"You know, we are college students, we are going to party, but this is an unnecessary incident to start off the year," one student said.
Police warn, if they have to be at the school arresting people every night, they will.
