Hollywood Mission For Mass. Economic Development Secretary
BOSTON (CBS) - The head of economic development for the state is headed to Hollywood Tuesday, on a mission to entice more movie makers to Massachusetts.
Economic Development Secretary Greg Bialecki said Massachusetts has it all when it comes to making movies: a tax credit for the studios, lots of local talent, and great scenery.
At the governor's urging, Bialecki will meet with movie moguls in L.A. and make a pitch for filming in Massachusetts.
"The timing is very deliberate, to make sure we are there while the location setting process is underway," Bialecki said. "We do expect that over the course of the spring some of these studios will be announcing that they're going to make a movie here in Massachusetts."

Bialecki said the goal is to bring more jobs to the area, particularly to encourage the movie houses to use a lot of local talent both behind and in front of the camera.
