Holiday Weekend Approaching

It was a nice appearance by the sun yesterday afternoon and evening.  This morning, many of us will be embracing more sunshine before more storms are on the horizon.

Today will start with some patchy fog across southeastern Massachusetts, but as that lifts, we will enjoy some sunshine before afternoon storms begin to develop. The best chance for thunderstorm development will be after 2pm for neighborhoods outside of the 495 corridor, including Central and Western Mass. and southern NH. Highs will be 75-80F except for the cooler coastline in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Friday will be a partly sunny day with the chance of an early morning shower as an upper level disturbance travels northward. Then, during the afternoon, partly sunny skies will be accompanied by a few late-day storms.  The air should remain stable enough for Coastal Mass. to be excluded from the risk for afternoon thunderstorms. Highs will be 73-77F inland with coastal areas reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s once again.

Memorial Day Weekend: It is now looking like a cold front will move through the region on Friday night into early Saturday morning. Consequently,  Saturday should turn out to be a dry, hot, and humid day as high temps approach 85-90F...cooler @ coast!  Sunday should begin in a dry fashion with a cloud/sun combo before a chance of rain is introduced during the afternoon and evening. This chance of rain will be due to the northern movement of the rebounding warm/stationary front. Waves of low pressure will be riding along the front.  Sunday's highs will be slightly cooler in the middle to upper 70s with cooler temps along the coast.  Memorial Day will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms (especially during the afetrnoon and evening).  The culprit will be the stalled front bisecting the Commonwealth.  Highs will be in the middle 70s...cooler @ coast.
